An attorney has filed a motion with the state to get limited cell phone access for his client, Lori Vallow Daybell.
According to Idaho court documents, the attorney for Daybell filed the motion after he was denied to meet with Lori in the attorney-client room at the Madison County Detention Center for several months in 2020 and into early January of this year.
He says his only options to communicate with Lori was through a desk telephone where she’s handcuffed and within two feet of the deputy and a telephone line where calls are recorded.
According to the motion filing, the court is being asked to allow him to meet with Lori face to face uninterrupted as necessary and, “the Detention Center be ordered to shut off video recordings or any other recording devices during privileged communications, and allow Defendant be provided a cellular telephone that is limited in its access to Defense Counsel.”
