Broncos accept invite to Frisco Bowl vs North Texas

In its 25th-consecutive season of bowl eligibility, the third-longest streak in the country, the Boise State football team has accepted an invitation to the Frisco Bowl in Frisco, Texas.

“We are honored to be invited to the Frisco Bowl,” head coach Andy Avalos said. “For several of our players it provides an opportunity to play in front of family and friends in their home state of Texas. It will be special for our seniors who will take the field for the last time with their brothers. We look forward to the challenge and seeing Bronco Nation represented at the game.”

The Broncos will square off against North Texas in the fifth edition of the game, which is slated for Dec. 17 (Saturday) at Toyota Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. MT, and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Boise State achieved bowl eligibility for the 25th-consecutive season in 2022, trailing only Ohio State (34) and Georgia (26) on the current list.

North Texas enters the game 7-6, including a 6-2 mark in the Conference USA. This will be the seventh all-time matchup between the Broncos and the Mean Green, and the first since 2000.

“We are excited to have two outstanding teams participate in the 2022 Frisco Bowl, the Boise State Broncos and North Texas Mean Green” said Sean Johnson, Frisco Bowl Executive Director. “We are looking forward to hosting this great matchup and to welcoming the teams and their passionate fan bases to Frisco, Texas, for an exciting week of bowl events and a fantastic game at Toyota Stadium.”

Tickets to the bowl are on sale now and fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets through Boise State. They can be purchased online, in person at the Athletic Ticket Office on the west side of Albertsons Stadium or by phone at (208) 426-4737. Bronco Athletic Association (BAA) season ticket holders will be seated first based on their priority ranking and will have until Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., to submit their request.

By purchasing tickets through the Boise State athletic ticket office, fans ensure their seats will be located with other members of Bronco Nation and also assist the University in meeting its ticket obligation as a bowl participant. The number of tickets Bronco fans purchase through the University can also make the program appealing for future bowl games when selections are made. Purchasing tickets through Boise State allows the Athletic Ticket Office and the Bronco Athletic Association to provide customer service to fans leading up to the bowl and on game day.
