Broncos set to host Bulldogs tonight

Boise State begins a two-game homestand this week with a game against Fresno State on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at ExtraMile Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. MT with broadcast coverage provided by FS1 and Newstalk 670am KBOI.

SERIES HISTORY: The Broncos won both meetings against Fresno State last season, holding the Bulldogs to under 70 points in each game. Marcus Shaver, Jr. made a three with a second remaining in regulation to force overtime as Boise State won its record 14th game in a row  at Fresno State in the most recent game in the series (Jan. 28).

RESUME BUILDERS: Boise State has built an impressive resume to this point in the same. The Broncos have eight Quad 1 and Quad 2 victories, one of 12 programs at least eight. The Mountain West has the second-most teams ranked in the Top 35 of the NET with five — tied with the Big Ten.

TY DEGGIE: Over his last five games, sophomore forward Tyson Degenhart is averaging 18.4 points per game — led by a career-high 28 points at New Mexico this past Friday. Degenhart made two, game-tying three-point plays in the final seconds of regulation and overtime against the Lobos.

LOCK IT DOWN: The Broncos continue to establish themselves as one of the best defensive units in the country. Boise State is ranked ninth in KenPom’s adjusted defense metric, and are top 40 nationally in scoring defense (22nd), field goal defense (29th) and 3FG defense (39th).
