Noah Kahan released his fourth studio album, The Great Divide, on April 24, and fans responded quickly. In a weekly fan-voted poll, the Vermont folk-rock artist took 60% of the vote, landing ahead of Kehlani’s self-titled new album at 17%, and well clear of the other releases in the running.
The album has been four years in the making. His last full release, Stick Season, came out in 2022 and became a slow-burning cultural moment that earned him two Grammy nominations. The Great Divide is a 17-track follow-up co-produced alongside Gabe Simon and Aaron Dessner, recorded across studios in Nashville, Vermont, and upstate New York.
The title track dropped earlier in the year and peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it his highest-charting single to date. The album itself explores the personal weight of sudden success, and how fame shifts relationships with family, friends, and the place you grew up.
A Netflix documentary, Noah Kahan: Out of Body, dropped in March and adds further context to where the album is coming from. His North American tour kicks off June 11 in Orlando, with dates extending through December and into Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
