West Ada School District Trying to Move Forward Following Failed Levy

Voting during the primary election did not go the way the West Ada School District was hoping it would. The School District is figuring out how it will adjust its budget after voters chose not to renew the levy it has been enjoying.

Voters were asked to extend a $14 million a year levy for two more years, but 55% voted against it.

Administrators are also coming up with plans to go back to school in the fall amid an uncertain future with COVID-19.

Between the failed levy and statewide cuts, the district will have to reduce its budget next year by just over $27 million.

Officials tell CBS 2 News, they’ll be communicating three possible scenarios to parents very soon.
