Gas prices fall again in Idaho

U.S. demand for fuel is at it’s lowest point since mid-June, and in turn…the price of gas continues to decline.

While a decline in the use and price of gasoline is typical for this time of year, demand is 14 percent less than last October, a sure sign that the pandemic continues to affect our overall mobility.

More Idahoans are keeping close to home due to not only remote work and school requirements, but cooler temperatures and the transition to less travel from summer to fall.

The Idaho state average for a gallon of regular grade gas currently sits at $2.34, which is eight cents less than a month ago, and 55 cents less than a year ago. The U.S. average is $2.16 a gallon.

AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde says normally, Idaho’s average price is about 30 cents more expensive than the national average, so even though we’re paying 18 cents more per gallon, we can declare a partial victory.
