Washington Gov. criticizes Idaho’s COVID-19 response

Washington Governor Jay Inslee criticized Idaho Leaders on how they are handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

These comments came from a press briefing that Governor Inslee held to talk about Washington’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have urged the Idaho leaders to show some leadership. One of the reasons we have such jammed up hospitals in Spokane is because Idaho, frankly, has not done some of the things that we have found successful,” Inslee said.

“I was stunned at the same week where I heard that Idaho…may ship patients here to Oregon, that they had abandoned their mask requirement. That’s just irresponsible. I don’t know what else to say about it. So we hope Idaho over time will be more aggressive and responsible, frankly, to reduce the burden on the Spokane medical system. That’s a hope.”

“We’re not going to have any border patrols on this. We have too many interrelationships of people crossing the border. We will have enforcement of businesses, obviously, in our jurisdiction to make sure that they comply,” Inslee said.

This is after Governor Little rolled Idaho back to stage 2 of the Idaho Rebound plan due to increasing coronavirus cases.
