Memorial Day our family visited Reid W. Merrill Sr. Community Park in Eagle to check out the Eagle Field of Honor. WOW! What an incredible sight!
This event happens every year over Memorial Day Weekend paying tribute to our fallen servicemen and women as well as active military personnel. This field of flags filled me with a lot of emotion and gratitude for these men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom. My oldest was especially awestruck and asked a lot of questions. There are volunteers on site that keep watch over the flags and are available for questions. Definitely ask away, they offer amazing insight, history, and information. Put this on your list to visit for next year. We will definitely be back!
I also highly recommend this park for an Outdoor Idaho Adventure! This is a perfect park for families with an amazing playground, splash pad for those hot days, walking trails, picnic tables, sports courts including volleyball and basketball, and even an ice-cream vendor! You can reserve certain parts of the park if you want to hold an outside birthday party or family event. Check out our photos that the kids and I took and find out more about the park here.
