West Ada School District looks to keep up with growth

School districts across the Treasure Valley are trying to keep up with growth. West Ada, the biggest district in the state, is no exception.

Voters this spring rejected a more than $500 million plant facilities levy. Without the levy passing, what does it mean for the district?

Superintendent Derek Bub tells CBS 2 News part of that means adding portable classrooms to campuses like Hillsdale and Star elementary schools this summer.

Portables are already on most campuses. It’s a temporary fix, and one that isn’t cheap.

He says there’s also the potential for boundary changes in some areas and they’ll likely have to make some staffing cuts.
